At Talaya, we aim to unlock creativity and sustainability for renters by asking questions that have never been asked, and doing things differently than the way they're usually done.  We can't wait to celebrate the new ways you create with your Talaya tiles, but we do ask that creativity never come at the cost of safety.   

Common sense can probably prevent any mishaps with these tiles, but in case you, like us, prefer clarity to confusion, here are some guidelines to keep yourself, your loved ones and your tiles safe.

These guidelines are based on our internal testing of the Talaya products and the 3M® Command® Narrow Picture Hanging Strips and should be taken as advice only. Following these guidelines does not create any type of warranty, guarantee, or the like of any nature, either express or implied. See our Limited Warranty, Product Disclaimers, and Limitations of Liability for more information. 

• DO treat your Talaya tiles like art.  DON'T install them where they'll be exposed to any elements - wind, water, dirt, direct sun, heat or cold. DON'T attach, affix, hang or suspend anything else from them, or lean other objects against them.    
• DO select an appropriate wall surface to mount your tiles - clean, dry, smooth and untextured.  If hanging on a painted surface, ensure paint is properly adhered to the wall (does not stretch, bubble, peel or chip easily), and has completely dried for at least 7 days.  DON'T hang on wallpaper, textured walls, rough or non-stick surfaces, brick, fabric or floors.  
  
• DO use only 3M® Command® Narrow Picture Hanging Strips to hang your tiles, and follow all manufacturing instructions for prepping your hanging surface and affixing strips to the walls.  DON'T use other sizes, variants or generic copies of 3M® Command® Strips with Talaya tiles.  
• DO give your tiles solid backing.  DON'T mount them on doors, false walls, furniture, windows, or anything that moves.  
• DO hang tiles in indoor spaces where everyone can see and enjoy them.  DON'T hang tiles in bathrooms or outdoors, where humidity, sun, the elements, mold or other creatures can get at them.  
• DO respect the authority of gravity and recognize the limits of engineering when choosing where to hang your tiles.  DON'T mount them on ceilings, or overhead in any way.  
• DO remember these tiles are designed for removable, not permanent installation, and provide at least 4 inches of space between walls where Talaya tiles are displayed and any furniture, valuables and places where people or pets may be.  DON'T expect them to stay up forever, and DOUBLE DON'T install tiles in areas where people, children, animals or other objects could be harmed should a tile fall.  
  
• DO look, DON'T touch your gorgeous tile creation once it's up.  DON'T hit your tiles, speak unkindly to them, bounce things off of them, pull at them, hang on them, apply pressure, heat or cold to them.  DON'T remove and remount tiles on the same 3M® Command® Narrow Picture Hanging Strips or reuse 3M® Command® Narrow Picture Hanging Strips.
• DO gently dust your precious Talaya tiles with a duster or soft cloth, taking care not to tug or apply pressure to them.  DON'T apply water, chemicals (even wood cleaner!) to your tiles.  
• DO love your Talaya tiles the way they are.  DON'T tamper with the permanent, integrated clear interlock strips.  DON'T cut your tiles, bend them, break them or try to make them into something they're not.
• DO enjoy your tiles, responsibly, like an adult. DON'T allow children to use the tiles or play with the tiles, and DON'T hang tiles in spaces where children are children.  Toys are for children, tiles are for adults. Ditto for pets and people.     
  
• DO use common sense.  If you find yourself asking "is it safe to..." it's not.  It's definitely not.  DON'T. 

We hope you love your tiles, and enjoy expressing yourself and reinventing your space with them for years to come.  Creativity required.  Common sense encouraged. Stay safe out there.

Talaya tiles are designed for creative display and ease of installation. To facilitate secure and removable hanging, each Talaya tile set includes Genuine 3M® Command® Narrow Picture Hanging Strips.

1. Independent Manufacturer: Talaya is an independent manufacturer of high-end, wood paneling tile products.
2. No Affiliation or Endorsement: We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way officially associated or connected with 3M Company, its brands, or its products (including Command® products). 3M® Command® Narrow Picture Hanging Strips are provided solely as a purchased component of our product, much like any raw material or essential accessory.
3. User Responsibility for Component Use: The inclusion of 3M® Command® Narrow Picture Hanging Strips is a convenience for our customers. It is the sole responsibility of the user to read, understand, and strictly adhere to all instructions, warnings, and limitations provided by 3M Company for the proper use, application, and removal of their Command® Narrow Picture Hanging Strips. Failure to follow 3M's instructions may result in damage to surfaces, personal injury, or damage to the Talaya product or other property.
