INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Get Ready

PREP

Select an appropriate wall to hang your Talaya tiles - clean, dry, smooth, and untextured. If hanging on a painted surface, ensure paint is properly adhered to wall (does not stretch, bubble, peel or chip easily), and has completely dried for at least 7 days.

Gently wipe the wall with rubbing alcohol to clean and prep the surface.

DO NOT hang on wallpaper, textured walls, rough or non-stick surfaces, brick, or fabric.

DO NOT use tiles on non-wall surfaces, such as ceilings and floors.

CREATE YOUR DESIGN

PLAY!

On a clean, soft surface, lay out your Talaya tiles, and arrange in your desired configuration.

To protect the permanent interlock strips from dust and damage, we recommend gently laying tiles face down (cork side up). Avoid sliding tiles to keep wood faces free from scratches and dulling.

MEASURE & MAP

MAP YOUR DESIGN ON THE WALL

For simple patterns, we recommend marking the center of the wall, or the place you'd like to center your design. If spacing your tiles, use an object in the precise size of the desired space to guide your placement of each tile.

For complex designs, mark the location of each tile. We recommend using painter's tape or very light, erasable pencil to preserve the finish of your walls.

TILE TIME

PREPARE YOUR TILES

Separate the provided 3M® Command® Narrow Picture Hanging Strips. Click one strip into each of the four permanent, clear interlock strips on each Talaya tile, ensuring that the 3M® Command® Narrow Picture Hanging Strip pull tab is directed TOWARD the tile handle, and that each strip is fully enmeshed with its permanent interlock strip.

MAKE MAGIC

HANG & TEST

Using a level if needed, begin hanging tiles according to your design, removing the backing paper on each 3M® Command® Narrow Picture Hanging Strip and placing tile in the desired position on the wall. Press and hold firmly for 30 seconds over each interlocking strip to ensure a complete seal.

For vertical or diagonal hanging, ensure that each Talaya tile handle (and the tabs of all 3M® Command® Narrow Picture Hanging Strips) is directed toward the floor, rather than the ceiling, for best removal results.

After each tile is placed, gently press one hand into the tile end opposite the handle. With your other hand, lightly lift the tile handle, using a gentle peeling motion to separate the tile from the 3M® Command® Narrow Picture Hanging Strips, which should remain affixed to the wall.

Set the Talaya tile aside, and using your fingers, gently press each 3M® Command® Narrow Picture Hanging Strip against the wall to ensure a smooth, complete seal.

TAKE IT EASY

WAIT 1 HOUR. THEN REATTACH & ENJOY!

Wait 1 hour for the adhesive to set, then reattach each Talaya tile, using a level if needed, ensuring that each tile's 4 clear interlock strips click firmly into place with the matching 3M® Command® Narrow Picture Hanging Strip on the wall.
